COGNITION provides trauma management services around the clock, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for organisations to which we are contracted. A traumatic event may include such things as an armed hold-up, assault, death, industrial accident, or similar emergencies that require immediate attention. We will be pleased to provide timely service for all other non-emergency situations and personal issues within standard business hours only.
Please telephone COGNITION if a traumatic event has occurred and advise the following:
If it is outside of standard business hours, a psychologist will be contacted and will return your call as soon as practicable. While a call back will occur as a matter of urgency, please take other steps to look after yourself or work colleagues in the interim (e.g., go to hospital, take steps to be with others who will look after you, etc.) as the on-call psychologist may be busy addressing another matter.
This service is not available to organisations with whom we have no prior relationship. If you are an organisation with a foreseeable risk of a traumatic event, we would welcome discussing the provision of a planned service for your organisation.
We do not provide an emergency service to individual members of the public with whom we have no prior relationship.
Please refer to the Emergency section of this website for advice, or contact the police, or the relevant emergency, or crisis service. Please call 000 if you are in immediate danger.
